Install and evaluate the new version in a test environment. Component Control does not recommend installing upgrades on a production environment without testing first.

These release notes include all builds in the current Quantum Control version(s) QC10.5.xx. These versions of Quantum Control address requests and issues reported to us by our customers. We have tried to add as many of the new features as requested by customers as possible. If Security has been added, your system administrator will need to give the appropriate users access before you may use it. Any new system settings must be enabled by your system administrator before you may use the new feature.

Security, Setup Features, General and Miscellaneous
- [T2092] New, optional Screen Editor Tool enables licensed SYSDBA users to tailor the appearance of windows within Quantum Control. Users right-click to access a menu of customization options that provide the following capabilities: Hide fields, change tab key order, flag fields as required, move fields using Drag and Drop, rename fields, resize fields, and an easy reset back to the default system settings temporarily or permanently. (10.5)
- [T2852] In User > System Setup > Global Settings > Misc Tab, if a change is made to the Decimal Places values for Quantity, Cost, Price, Account, or Percent a warning will now appear indicating the pending change and urging the user to not change decimal value until after speaking with Tech. Support. Clicking “No” undoes the change. Clicking “Yes” keeps the updated value. Changes are recorded on the Audit Trail table. (10.5)
- [T3492] Four new icons have been created for Quantum windows. The icon that will display depends on which customization has been applied to the window/form. The 3 tools that can customize windows/forms are: Screen Scripter, Screen Designer, Screen Editor.
Icons logic was already implemented for Screen Scripter and Screen Designer. Now, with Screen Editor there are 4 new icons that will display depending on other customization tools that may have been used to make modifications to the screen:- Blank white page icon - only Screen Editor was used to customize the form.
- Page icon with green bar - Screen Editor and Screen Designer were used to customize the form.
- Page icon with purple bar - Screen Editor and Screen Scripter were used to customize the form.
- Page icon with purple and green bar - Screen Editor, Screen Scripter and Screen Designer were used to customize the form. (10.5)
- [T3485] Improved SMTP email functionality to now provide the authentication required by global email providers such as Gmail or Yahoo. Users can now email directly out of Quantum without the need for an external email client. Additional enhancements include user-specific email configuration to simplify setup, HTML email signature support, and tracking of emails sent from Quantum.
The User Configuration Screen now contains user-specific email settings. This enables each user to choose either MAPI or SMTP as their email protocol.( User > System Setup > Maintain System Tables > System Browses > Users > Email Config) (10.5) - [T2251] The 8130 form has been updated to meet 2014 FAA guidelines. - [T2288] If no other rights are granted for work orders, the security right: Work Order > Global > Edit Header no longer allows a user to add, edit, or select any work type. (10.5)
- [T2422] User Security Profiles screen now accurately shows the users that are logged into Quantum. (10.5)
- [T1314] Default clauses set up through the Global Settings Misc tab are now automatically added to the selected documents. (10.5)
- [T2632] New Find feature has been added to Location Merge window located under User menu > System Setup > Maintain System Tables > Inventory Control Utilities > Location Merge (10.5)
- [T2592, T2803] In User Security Management, the Security right “User Configuration” located under “User Settings” will grant users access to browse the “Assigned To” grid in the Contact Management search.
Granting access to the User Setting “User Configuration” no longer allows users to Edit each of the user fields. In order to edit information, access must be granted to the “Edit User Detail” setting. (10.5) - [T3356] In User Security Management, revoking the Security right “Bank” located under “General Ledger” will now prevent users from accessing the Banks browse and viewing account or credit card information. (10.5)
- [T3912] In User Security Management, revoking the Security right “Work Order Labor Report” located under “Work Order > Reports” will now prevent users from accessing the Labor Report in the Shop Control Module. (10.5)
- [T2569, T2673] New setting “Default Folder for New Emails” created on the Email Settings tab in Global Settings. Options are “Drafts” and “Outbox”. When the “Show Email Form” option is checked on the Print Settings window and the Destination is Email, the email will reside in the selected folder before it is sent. (10.5)
- [T2262] When switching users and selecting a different database, the settings from the previous session no longer cache and apply to the second session. When selecting the User > Logon To a Different Database a message will be displayed indicating that Quantum needs to be restarted. If the user clicks Yes, then Quantum will be restarted and the database selection screen will be presented to allow the user to choose a different database. (10.5)
- [T2904] No longer need to apply a supervisor twice for a user (User > System Setup > Maintain System Tables > System Browses > Users). After applying the supervisor and closing out of the user window, the Browsing Quantum users screen no longer goes blank. (10.5)
- [T482] No longer need to apply edits to user signatures twice. (User > System Setup > Maintain System Tables > System Browses > Users) (10.5)
- [T3094] New “Overwrite Currency Format” check box found on the Adding/Editing Currency window. (User > System Setup > Maintain System Tables > Company Management Browses > Currency Codes)

- [T2332] Quantum windows that don’t have minimize and maximize display buttons are no longer cut off for clients that have Windows Display and DPI settings at 125%. (10.5)
- [T2355] The issue of the Browsing Tax Codes window opening repeatedly has been resolved across the system. (10.5)
- [T2901] The issue of losing keyboard functionality after deleting an order line item using the ‘D’ shortcut key has been resolved. (10.5)
- [T3175] The login window that displays the available databases has been enlarged. (10.5)
- [T3102] The number of Barcode Connections has been added to the Help > About Quantum Control screen. (10.5)
- [T2793] The issue resulting in the “ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small; ORA-06512: at line 1.” error when trying to log into Quantum has been resolved. (10.5)

Company Management
- [T2334] Manufacturing Order history is now excluded from the Work Order History browse. (10.5)
- [T2035] The Sales field (Sales Person) now supports a null value. (10.5)
- [T3499] The performance issue that occurred when using the Search Companies function with no parameters specified has been resolved. (10.5)
- [T3134] When importing, the max allowed field length for STATE and SHIP_STATE has been increased from 2 to 3 characters, and the max allowed field length for COUNTRY and SHIP_COUNTRY has been increased from 25 to 35 characters. (10.5)
- [T2630] When viewing the browse window from the Search Companies option, unverified companies are now displayed in red. (10.5)
- [T3750] New “Find” option for Unverified Companies. Search by Company Name or Company Code. (10.5)
- [T3714] New “VAT#” column has been added to the “Browsing Company Site Entries” (Sites button). The VAT# field has been added to the “Adding New Site for Company” window. (10.5)
Inventory/Stock Issue
- [T2471] The issue causing stock lines for built kits to default to the wrong G/L Account has been resolved. (10.5)
- [T2487] Functionality for the Demand Analysis button within the Demand Analysis browse window (Other Searches > Search PN Demand and Usage Analysis) has been restored. It now brings up the Demand/Transaction Analysis window. (10.5)
- [T2336] Part warnings set to “Restrict” or “Warn” for Sales Orders are no longer bypassed when converting a Customer Quote to a Sales Order. (10.5)
- [T2677] The Exp. Date on the STD Barcode PN Label now prints in the same format as displayed in the Stock Line window. (10.5)
- [T2614] Part warnings created for “Work Order Main Components” now appear when a WO is created using the Receiver Inspection module. (10.5)
- [T2788] Content entered into the UDF Name 004A field (User > System Setup > Inventory > Inventory Settings > User Defined Field Names tab) now appears on the Find for Browsing Master Part Entries window (Inventory Control icon drop-down menu > Search Master Parts) (10.5)
- [T2799] The Master Part Find option will now return the correct results when the “Find By: NSN” and “Search Options: Strip Symbols” selections are used. (10.5)
- [T2910] The question mark (?) and asterisk (*) wild card symbols now work for the Global > Assign PN Group > By PN Pattern option. (10.5)
- [T2719] The “Qty not on SO/WO” now populates on the PO History browse of the master part record. (10.5)
- [T2829] When Splitting the Quantity of a Stock Line during a Stock Transfer, the existing MFG Lot # Data will now show up in the newly created Stock Line’s MFG Lot # Field. (10.5)
- [T2720] When using the new “Transfer items out from Lot for Exchanges” option (User > System Setup > Inventory > Inventory Settings > Exchange Options tab), Credit Memos created from these (Lot item) sales now appear as credits against the Consignment Report. (10.5)
- [T2878] After undoing stock activity from a Stock Issue and voiding receiving on the PO, the GL batch and GL accounts for Void Receiving are no longer blank on the Stock Line Stock Audit. (10.5)
- [T2907] Stock Line Remarks are no longer cut off when printed on the Standard Stock Part Number label. (10.5)
- [T3115] Part clauses no longer print on invoices if they are not selected for invoices in the master part clause page. (10.5)
- [T2858] The Reference Number field of the Add Vendor Quote for Part Number window (Quote > Vendor) must now be populated in order for the Vendor Quote to be created from the master part record. (10.5)
- [T3113] No longer able to import stock into a part on the Inactive Parts list. (10.5)
- [T2862] The Repair Order History browse now displays the original part number located on the RO detail. (10.5)
- [T2968] The Stock Audit Trail now clearly identifies the changes created by Cost Adjustments performed on POs. The first row states, “Cost Adjust” (resulting from the update of the stock table) and the second row states, “Purchase Order line item adjustment” (resulting from GL activity). (10.5)
- [T1357] When adding a stock line to a master part that is not a fixed asset and then make the part a fixed asset, you can now inspect the stock line. (10.5)
- [T1351] When doing an inspection on serialized parts, and both Scrap and Non-Conforming have a quantity indicated, the system no longer hangs at the time of receiving the NC stock line. (10.5)
- [T2448] Duplicate instance of “Modified PN ROs” has been removed from the Search toolbar. (10.5)
- [T2483] The “Search PO Exchanges” option (Inventory Control icon drop down > Other Searches > Search PO Exchanges) was incorrectly labeled as “RO Exchanges” when selected from the Search button at the bottom of the Inventory Control window. This has been corrected. (10.5)
- [T2768] Part warnings have been restricted to one warning per module per part. (10.5)
- [T3040] An error no longer occurs when selecting two locations and printing the STD Location Listing Report. (10.5)
- [T3249] The “Work Order Main Component History” browse now lists open WOs with a main component that has not yet been reserved. (10.5)
- [T3314] When unflagging an Alternate PN from the xRef browse in a master part record, the Alternate PN will now be taken off of Stock Market. (10.5)
- [T3323] The “Parts Using This Warning” browse grid (Global > Part Warnings > Add > Parts) from within Master Part record now lists all master parts using the selected message. (10.5)
- [T2472] When importing, the existing parts in Quantum that have notes and are also on the import list, will update and the notes will no longer be deleted. (10.5)
- [T3078] When a stock line is received for the first time the “Old” field values in the Stock Audit now populate with an appropriate value or are left blank (Null). (10.5)
- [T3125] The “Type” field on the Stock Audit now more clearly indicates changes to Serial numbers and receiving of Piece Parts. (10.5)
- [T3089] The WO/MO Number column in the Stock Audit is now updated with the Lot # when an item is transferred in/out of a Lot. (10.5)
- [T3230] The issue causing stock lines created from a MO to have zero cost when Unit Cost is fractions of a cent (has four decimal places) has been resolved. (10.5)
- [T3219] The issue causing price lines having the same change timestamp to return incorrect prices to an SO item has been resolved. (10.5)
- [T3366] Notes added via the Global menu on a stock issue now appear on the header notes panel. (10.5)
- [T3397] The “Use Existing Vendor Quote #…” option now appears on the master part record > quote menu when the Vendor Quote setting “Use VQ Module when quoting from Parts to CQ” is unchecked. (10.5)
- [T3503] The “Loc Validated” field is now populated on split stock lines. (10.5)
- [T3600] The issue causing an access violation to occur when sending RFQs to many vendors via the green StockMarket button has been resolved. (10.5)
- [T272] Inventory > Forms & Reports > Goods Received > Manual Receiving list now shows stock received using the Receiving module. (10.5)
- [T4044] Users with the “Settings System” security setting revoked (Quantum Control > User Settings > Settings System) can no longer make edits to the “Exchange Options” tab within Inventory Settings. (10.5)
- [T4002] When completing a location stock transfer for an item that is on a Shipping order, the shipping order is now correctly updated and the stock reserved and quantity to ship amounts remain accurate. (10.5)
- [T4153] The “Original SL #” column is now populated when a part from a RO is scrapped. (10.5)
- [T2120] New “Manuals” browse window selection added to the Inventory Control window. This browse will display any repair manuals (or Publications) associated with the chosen part number. Right-click on a browse header and select “Configure Browses” to select it. (10.5)
- [T2449] New “WO Templates” browse window selection added to the Inventory Control window. This browse will display any work order templates associated with the chosen part number. Right-click on a browse header and select “Configure Browses” to select it. (10.5)
- [T2305] New “Part Ranking” fields available in the master part record. User-defined table with fields for Ranking Number, Ranking Category, and Ranking Group. These fields are viewable on the Unknown Receipts window and Receiver Inspection window. These fields have also been added as search criteria to the Contact Search in Contact Management and are viewable on the Browsing Contacts window. (10.5)
- [T2856] Files attached to stock lines are now available when transferred to a new part number using the Stock Xfer > Part Number option. (10.5)

- [T2635] When completing a location transfer, the Hold flag on a stock line now transfers to the new stock line. (10.5)
- [T3026] New Inventory Module Setting “Restrict Stock Res. to Same Sys. Company”. When this setting is enabled, users will be restricted from reserving a stock line that belongs to a different System (Accounting) Company than the one the order was created from. (Requires Multi-Company licensing.) (10.5)
- [T2844] New “SO Category Code” field added to the master part record. The Code that is selected will automatically populate the Category field on the Sales Order line item detail. (10.5)
- [T3032] When an Unverified Part is created, a Part Warning is added automatically and receiving is blocked within Quick Receiving and Receiving Inspection. Verifying the Part removes the warning and the receiving restriction. (10.5)
- [T3067] New column “Allow Pre-Costing” added next to the “Lot Number” column in the Stock Reservations Stock On-Hand grid. This column enables the user to tell whether or not an item is Pre-Costed. In addition, the Stock Reservations screen is now resizable. (10.5)
- [T2943] New column “Days Since Received” added to the Master Part Record “Stock Summary” browse, Stock Line window (press F9 from Master Part record to access) and Inventory Control > Search Stock browse. This column displays the number of days since the stock line was received. (10.5)
- [T3172] New column “Original Lot #” added to the Inventory Control > Search Stock browse. This column displays the Lot number where the stock line was last transferred from. (10.5)
- [T2603] A change in the status of the “Serialized” check box is now recorded in the Part Number Audit Trail (Global > Historical Browses > Browse Part Changes). (10.5)
- [T3005] The Stock Reservations Browse (Other Searches > Stock Reservations) now includes columns for all reservation types: SO, PO, PO piece part, RO, RO piece part, Invoice, WO (main component, material, or tool), MO, Shipment, Remote Inventory, Warranty Claim, and MX event. (10.5)
- [T3375] The search criteria “Visible to Marketplace” has been changed to “Visible to StockMarket” on the Find for Browsing Stock Records window (Inventory Management > Search Stock). (10.5)
- [T2630] When viewing the browse window from the Search Master Parts option or the master part record Find option, unverified parts are now displayed in red. (10.5)
- [T2370] New “Customs Status” selection for stock lines. Choices are: None, Free Circulation, End-Use Control, and Airworthy. Also available on Unknown Receipts item detail and the Adding Receiving Inspection window. Selection is informational only. (10.5)
- [T3223] UDF 005-010, UDF 020-022, and UDN 001-010 fields have been added to the Stock Audit window. (10.5)
- [T2612] Part Warning labels now have a rollover note to indicate the process it applies to. Also, part warning has been added for receiving via Receiver Inspection. (10.5)
- [T2376] New Inventory module setting “Import Obsolete Parts” (User > System Setup > Inventory > Inventory Settings). Enable this check box if you want to be able to update alternate and superseded parts on the Inventory Alternate Parts (Xref) table directly from the Cessna/Citation parts catalog. This feature automatically alerts users that a part has been superseded and gives the option to replace during quoting. (10.5)
- [T3042] New “Show Dynamic Notes” check box at the top right of the master part record. Enable this feature to divide the master part notes display and add a separate memo viewing area which displays notes from any browse that is currently selected by the user. The notes will display for the detail level of data. For example, if the browse selected is at the header level (ex: Work Order Main Component history), then the Global/Header Notes will display. If the browse selected is at the detail level (ex: Work Order BOM history), then the line item notes will display.
Additionally the “Condition Sequence” field has been added to the Stock Summary browse. (10.5) - [T3753] New “Find” option for Unverified Parts. Search by part number or part description. (10.5)

StockMarket
- [T173, 19753, 15742] New StockMarket dashboard feature allows users to search for and modify multiple stock lines from a single screen within Quantum. Users can easily add or remove stock lines as well as add, modify, or delete capabilities from StockMarket. The StockMarket dashboard is accessible from a new icon located on the Quantum Control module toolbar. (10.5)
- [T2922] New check box “Prompt for Number Log” added to the EDI/SPEC2000 Settings on the StockMarket Control window (User > System Setup > The StockMarket > Control). Enable this check box to bring up the list of available number logs so users can select the proper number log tied to the SYS_COMPANY to attach the quote to. Allows the default numbering log to be blank in the setup for EDI. (10.5)
- [T4051] To ensure the Vendor Quotes’ XML document always has a Sales person’s name, phone number, and email address when using the RFQ vendors option, or the Source All & RFQ in 1-Click option in the customer quote module:
- Quantum will pull the Company name for the Sales person’s name if there is not one from the Global settings.
- Quantum will pull the phone number from the Global Company details if the user is not set up with a phone number.
- Quantum will pull the email address from the StockMarket Control settings if there is not an email address set up for the user. (10.5)
Avref Catalog
- [T2361] NSN numbers are now stripped from all AVREF imports. (10.5)
Customer Quotes
- [T2419] Deleting header clauses no longer causes an error. (10.5)
- [T2399, T3133] When using the “Ask for the Company” flag when creating a Sales Order from a Customer Quote with line items, the Accounting Company, Division, and Department will now transfer from the Customer Quote and populate on the Sales Order. (10.5)
- [T2414] New index developed to improve speed of RFQ Preview generation for vendors with a large number of historical quotes. (10.5)
- [T2967] The issue with users being unable to add Taxes to line items has been resolved. (10.1) **Firebird Only**
- [T2889] When using the Copy function on a Customer Quote line item with a MFG Rev reference, the created line item now contains the Product Template reference. (10.5)
- [T2292] The issue of the UOM not updating when the user typed in the part number and tabbed through the fields has been resolved. (10.5)
- [T3118] The “CQDetail: Dataset is not in edit mode.” error no longer appears after adding a clause to a line item and then clicking on an ellipsis/table button. (10.5)
- [T3104] On the EDI Manager browse, (Customer Quotes > Browse Incoming EDI RFQ’s) merged (inactive/historical) parts no longer appear. (10.5)
- [T4128] An error no longer occurs when opening the Quote Activity Listings report. (10.5)
- [T4130] The keyboard shortcut for the Browsing Clauses window has been restored to (L). (10.5)
- [T2976] New option in Customer Quote module settings, “Authorize CQ Item with Zero or Negative Price.” When enabled, this setting allows a $0 price on a quote without requiring authorization for users configured with minimum margin limits. (10.5)
- [T2473] The following fields are now displayed on the “Item Detail” of Customer Quotes: “Curr. List Price” and “List Price”. (10.5)
- [T3029] New read only field “Date Created” added to the Customer Quote header and line item detail. This field is automatically populated with the time and date the Customer Quote is created (header) and line items are added to the Customer Quote (line item detail). (10.5)
- [T2362] New Customer Quote Module Setting, “Update DateQTD to current date when printing CQ.” When enabled, a prompt will appear when a user prints the quote asking if they want to update the DateQTD for each line item to today’s date. Clicking “Yes” will update the line items. Clicking “No” will not update them. If this setting is disabled, no prompt will appear. (10.5)
Vendor Quotes
- [T231] When using the vendor quote to update the cost of a customer quote line item, the cost will no longer disappear if the unit of measure (UOM) of the VQ is different from the the UOM of the master part in the system. A warning will be displayed, if there is no conversion factor setup for the VQ UOM. User can decide if they still want to apply pricing with no conversion. If there is a conversion factor it will tell the user that the pricing will be converted by the VQ UOM factor. (10.5)
- [T2888] The keyboard shortcut for PM Sources has been changed from ‘S’ to ‘M’. The keyboard shortcut for the ILS Import option in the Global menu has been changed from ‘M’ to ‘P’. (10.5)
- [T2835] The issue causing the “Condition Code not found” error to appear when performing a QCC Vendor Quote update has been resolved. (10.5)
- [T3397] The “Use Existing Vendor Quote #…” option now appears on the master part record > quote menu when the Vendor Quote setting “Use VQ Module when quoting from Parts to CQ” is unchecked. (10.5)
- [T3604] The issue causing an error to occur when printing RFQ to vendors (“Send RFQ to all vendors, ignoring flags” option selected) has been resolved. (10.5)
Sales Orders
- [T1550] Line items that do not have a last ship date will now appear in Open Sales Order Reports using Item Due date. (10.5)
- [T1420] If a Sales Order is created from a Customer Quote and the exchange rate on the Sales Order is different from the currency code on the Customer Quote, the currency price and exchange rate are now calculated correctly. (10.5)

If the core has a $0 cost, then no adjusting entries will be made when voiding the core (core can be received before or after posting the invoice).
If the core has a cost greater than $0, voiding the core receipt adjusts the GL by crediting the inventory and debiting the awaiting core accounts.
The core stock line will be adjusted to 0, and the core return date on the exchange tab will be nullified.
If there is a core credit memo as a result of receiving the core, an adjustment is made on the credit memo for a positive amount, but it is not linked to the sales order. AR and GL will be reversed accordingly.
The “Inspect core credit memo” function in the exchange menu on the sales order will show the original credit memo until the new core is received. Once the new core is received, the new credit memo is displayed. The Exchange dashboard will behave the same way. Charge line item will be added automatically to the selected WO/WP and Task. The ‘amount’ of the charge is the ‘cost’ and the Charge code is the one that was selected on the AP detail.
The standard GL transactions for the manual AP will be created, as well as the standard GL transactions for adding a misc. charge to a WO/WP. The WO/WP and Task can be open or closed, depending on the existing system settings for allowing activities for closed WO’s/Tasks. (10.5)

Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

Not all components will be depreciated. The new “Fixed Asset” on the Master Part record determines whether to Expense or depreciate the parts listed on a Company Owned Aircraft Configuration.
The maximum depreciation value will be the Install Cost - Core value as indicated by the “Core Value” field on the Master Part record. (10.5)
- [T3345] New functionality for Depreciating Policies allows the placement of a dollar value (Initial Value) on a non-physical MX Policy (generally just under the airframe or in a non-physical position just under the airframe). This dollar value depreciates based on a rate of starting value/hours until due, based on flight hours. This dollar value is “reset” to the total cost assigned to the Job Card (labor, parts, charges). This writes GL transactions. This dollar value rolls up to the accumulative value of the aircraft.
A new field has been added to enter an Adjustment amount for the Depreciated Amount for Positions and for Policies. This amount is included in calculations for Current Value, Accumulated Depreciation and Disposal Value, and will be rolled up to the corresponding values of the aircraft. Entering Adjustment will create GL transactions.
When a Job Card for specified Position or Policy is signed off, the Adjustment amount is reset to zero. (10.5)
Manufacturing

Filtering can be performed on all the parameters supported in the Shop Control version plus another flag field: Include Subs. If it’s unchecked, the Issue screen will only show parts available to issue for the selected MO.

There are two ways to link an RO to an RI item, by the Misc > RO Link menu for linking to an existing RO, or by Global > Create RO allows you to create a new RO or link to an existing one. Either method now shows in both grids, and allows unlinking without removing the stock reservation on the RO. (10.5)
